P&A Campbell steamers. The victorian era

FICHA TÉCNICA

Founded by two Scottish brothers, the firm of P&A Campbell originated on the Clyde but the operation was transferred to the Bristol Channel in the 1860s and the rest, as they say, is history. From its inception, P&A Campbell dominated steamer travel on the Bristol Channel, both for tourism and trade between Bristol and South Wales. From the Hotwells Basin to the ports of Cardiff, Penarth, and Barry, the steamers of Campbell's were a regular sight. Many thousands made the trip down the water every week on the Campbell steamers and the company expanded to the South Coast when trade was booming. This volume presents the history of the early P&A Campbell years.
